About Lessondex
Built by a music teacher, for music teachers.
The Founder
My name is Luke Brinkley, and I'm a private piano instructor based in Houston, Texas. I spent several years teaching at a music school where everything administrative was handled for me: scheduling, billing, parent communication. When I left to run my own studio, I realized pretty quickly I had no idea how to manage any of that.
The Problem
I tested a lot of apps. The ones built for tutors were either too basic or had clearly never been used by an actual teacher. The ones with more features were designed for gyms or salons or large businesses. Nothing felt right. I kept patching things together with Google Sheets and Venmo requests, which technically worked but took way too much of my time.
Why I Built Lessondex
Eventually I just built what I wanted to exist. Lessondex started as something I made for myself, and I kept refining it until it actually solved the problems I was running into. The goal was never to build something impressive. It was to build something I would actually use every day.
The Mission
Lessondex is for independent teachers who are good at teaching but don't want to spend hours on the business side of things. You shouldn't need a business degree to send an invoice or schedule a makeup lesson. That's what the app is for.
